WHAT IS PROVIDED

Backyard Herbal Medicine is the skill and knowledge of using regional medicinal plants for promoting health, while preventing and caring for illness. Studies show that 75% of the world's population relies primarily upon traditional healing practices, most of which is local herbal medicine.

I have been a backyard herbalist and instructor since the early 1970s. I work strictly with medicinal plants found within a sixty mile radius of my home and studio. This long-term, intimate, hands-on connection with the healing plants that surround me has given me over forty years of experience.

Even though I am a plant person, I have through the years become a people person, too. I look forward to teaching individuals how to use our vast backyard medicinal plant pharmacies to support and maintain health rather than fighting disease. Please understand that I am not a licensed medical doctor and do not diagnose disease. I am a teacher, and as an herbal consultant, my goal is to provide you with an educational experience during which you will learn about the regional herbs that support your health and inspire healing.

On-line communications begin with a detailed assessment of your past and current health history, your dietary and lifestyle practices, and other factors related to your health issues. With your involvement, we develop an herbal and dietary program that addresses your specific needs and goals towards wellness. Let me state upfront, I am not a proponent of supplements or pharmaceuticals. I believe that optimal wellness comes from the foods we eat, the herbs that support our body’s ability to heal and embracing our natural surroundings in support of spiritual selves.
